YLE Foundation opens registration for young people from around the world to obtain an observer badge for the UN Climate Change Conference (COP31) as part of the Foundation’s delegation.
As an organization accredited by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), the Foundation strives to provide opportunities for youth to participate in the Conferences of the Parties (COPs), based on the belief that their voices are a fundamental pillar in shaping the future of climate action.
Over the course of four consecutive conferences, the Foundation has enabled young people to participate in the following:
COP27 in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt (2022).
COP28 in Dubai, UAE (2023).
COP29 in Baku, Azerbaijan (2024).
COP30 in Belém, Brazil (2025).
During these conferences, the participants attended sessions and negotiations, engaged in various events and media coverage, and built a network of connections with climate stakeholders from across the globe.
Continuing this journey, the Foundation is now preparing to empower a new generation of young people to participate in COP31.
Please note that the Foundation does not cover participation costs, such as airfare, accommodation, or other related expenses.
